During this tour, you will experience the best of Colca, including:

Descent into the canyon from Cabanaconde to San Juan de Chuccho – You will cross bridges, trails with Andean flora and fauna, deep views, and nature in its purest form.
Sangalle Oasis – A natural refuge at the bottom of the canyon with palm trees, fresh water pools, tropical scenery, and well-deserved rest.
Early sunrise climb – Climb to the viewpoint or the village of Cabanaconde, just in time to see the light illuminate the canyon walls, an intense and rewarding experience.

Colca Canyon Trekking Itinerary 3 Days

DAY

Chivay - Cruz del Condor

Between 3:00 and 3:30 a.m., we will pick you up at your hotel in Arequipa and head to Chivay, where we will have a light breakfast. Then, we will visit the Cruz del Cóndor viewpoint to observe the canyon and the condors.

Afterwards, we will continue to the starting point in San Miguel, where we will begin the hike, descending about 1,000 meters to the village of San Juan de Chuccho (approx. 3 hours).

Upon arrival, we will assign you a cabin and you will enjoy lunch. The afternoon will be free for you to rest. Dinner will be at 7:00 p.m., and you will spend the night in San Juan.

Sangalle Oasis

After breakfast at 8:00 a.m., we will continue hiking for about 3 hours along the canyon until we reach the Sangalle Oasis around noon.

Upon arrival, you will be assigned a bungalow and enjoy lunch. You will have the afternoon free to rest, enjoy the pool, and relax in the hammocks. Dinner will be served at 7:00 p.m., and then you will spend the night at the oasis.

Cabanaconde – Chivay – Arequipa

We start the day early, waking up at 5:00 a.m. to begin the 1,000-meter climb to Cabanaconde. This part of the trek takes about 3 hours and is the most demanding, but you can do it at your own pace. Once at the top, we will meet up to enjoy breakfast.

Then, our transport will take us back to Chivay, stopping at Antawilke (pre-Inca terraces) and the hot springs of Yanque, where you will have an hour to relax in the pools.

Upon arrival in Chivay, we will have lunch at a local buffet restaurant. Finally, we will begin our return to Arequipa, with brief stops at Patapampa and the Salinas y Aguada Blanca National Reserve.
