During this tour you will experience:
Car trip from Cusco to Hidroeléctrica – Passing through towns such as Ollantaytambo, Santa María, and Santa Teresa; crossing Andean landscapes to Abra Málaga, with heights exceeding 4,300 meters.
2-3 hour hike from Hidroeléctrica to Aguas Calientes – A trail along the river, tropical vegetation, changing views, and the experience of entering Machu Picchu via a less conventional route. (A train option is usually offered for this section.)
Night in Aguas Calientes – Accommodation in a hotel or hostel with basic amenities, ideal for resting before the big visit.
Guided tour of Machu Picchu – At dawn or early in the morning, approximately 2-hour tour of the citadel, with a guide in Spanish or English, to learn about the temples, Inca history, and the most emblematic sites.

Cusco a Hidroeléctrica
Pick-up will be at Plazoleta Regocijo between 7:10 and 7:20 a.m. to begin the trip to Hidroeléctrica (approx. 6 hours by car). Along the way, we will enjoy beautiful landscapes ranging from Abra Málaga to the jungle edge of Santa María and Santa Teresa, where we will stop for lunch at a local restaurant.
From Hidroeléctrica, we will begin a 2.5-hour hike following the train tracks until we reach the town of Aguas Calientes (Machu Picchu Pueblo), where you will have dinner and lodging.

Machu Picchu sanctuary
After breakfast, we will take a bus to the entrance of Machu Picchu to experience the magic of sunrise in the citadel. With our guide, you will spend about three hours visiting the most important sites, such as the Guardian’s Enclosure, the Temple of the Sun, the Intiwatana, and the Sacred Plaza.
Afterwards, you will have free time to explore on your own and enjoy this unique site. At noon, we will descend to the Ruins Bridge and walk to Hidroeléctrica, where our transportation back to Cusco will be waiting for us, arriving around 10:00 p.m.
