Itinerary Machu Picchu and Rainbow Mountain 5 days tour
Arrival in Cusco
We will be waiting for you upon your arrival in the city of Cusco at the Alejandro Velasco Astete International Airport. From there, we will transfer you in our private transportation to your hotel. Once you are settled in your rooms, you can take advantage of the time to acclimatize by strolling through the historic center of the city. If the altitude affects you, you will have the option to rest at the hotel to recover and fully enjoy the next day’s tour.

Sacred Valley of the Incas
The tour will begin between 6:00 and 6:30 a.m., when we will pick you up at your hotel. We will begin a journey of approximately one hour to our first stop, Chinchero, known for its textile centers and its ancient Inca palace.
Then we will visit Moray, an agricultural laboratory famous for its amphitheater-shaped terraces. Later, we will head to the Maras Salt Mine, where you can observe the 54,000 salt wells and learn about the pink salt, known for its health benefits.Around noon, we will enjoy a buffet lunch in Urubamba.
In the afternoon, we will visit the imposing fortress of Ollantaytambo, at the end of the tour you will head to the train station in Ollantaytambo and take the train to Machu Picchu Pueblo (Aguas Calientes), where you will spend the night.

Machu Picchu, Seventh Wonder of the World
In the morning, we will go with you to the Consettur bus stop for a 20 to 30 minute ride to Machu Picchu. There, your guide will be waiting for you to start the guided tour, which will last between 2 and 3 hours. During your visit you will be able to enjoy the beautiful citadel of Machu Picchu, as well as take the best postcard and panoramic photos.
At the end of the tour, we will return to Aguas Calientes so you can take the train to Ollantaytambo. From this point, we will transfer you back to your hotel in Cusco.

Mountain of Colors
We will start this tour by picking you up at your hotel between 04:00 and 04:30 hours. Then, we will travel for approximately an hour and a half to Cusipata, where you will enjoy a semi-buffet breakfast.
Afterwards, we will continue to the base of the Colored Mountain to begin a hike of approximately two hours. Upon reaching the summit, you will be able to contemplate the impressive colors of the minerals that form this marvelous mountain. You will also have time to take pictures and enjoy the spectacular scenery.
After the descent, we will return to Cusipata for a typical lunch before returning to the city of Cusco, where we will arrive at approximately 17:30 hours.

Departure from Peru

Do I need to be in good physical condition for this 5-day tour?
Yes, especially for visiting the Mountain of Colors ⛰️, as it is located at a high altitude (over 5,000 meters above sea level). You don’t need to be an athlete, but it is advisable to be in moderate physical condition and to acclimatize in Cusco for at least one day before making the ascent.
Where will I stay during the Machu Picchu and Rainbow Mountain tour?
Overnight stays are divided between Cusco and Aguas Calientes. We work with 2- to 3-star tourist hotels (with the possibility of upgrading), ensuring comfort, cleanliness, and a good location for your rest.

During the excursion days, we include buffet lunches in the Sacred Valley and box lunches on the hike to Rainbow Mountain. Breakfast is usually provided by the hotel. Dinners are not included so that you can enjoy the local cuisine of Cusco and Aguas Calientes.

The trip to Machu Picchu is suitable for all ages, including children and seniors. However, the hike to Rainbow Mountain can be demanding, so we recommend assessing your physical condition or hiring horses available along the route.
