Our goal is to ensure the fulfillment of our mission. To this end, we present our policies, terms, and conditions, and invite you to read and/or review them carefully. Likewise, you may consult your Travel Advisor with any questions to ensure these terms are understood and accepted. Your collaboration and cooperation will be essential for the start of our adventure.

Scope of Use

Your stay with Machupicchu Sacred is subject to the regulations governing tourism in Peru and Bolivia and to the following General Conditions, which complement these regulations and therefore take precedence over them. These general sales conditions apply to all trips and services offered by Machupicchu Sacred.

When making a reservation with Machupicchu Sacred, whether through our website, email, or social media, you automatically acknowledge and accept our Terms and Conditions. Your participation in any of our services implies full acceptance of these agreements.

General Information

Machupicchu Sacred is a legally established travel agency and tour operator based in Cusco, Peru. Therefore, it is subject to the current laws and regulations governing tourism activities in this country.

Enrollment in a trip entails full compliance with Peruvian and Bolivian tourism laws, general sales conditions and/or special sales conditions of the company, as well as adherence to the instructions and recommendations set forth in the various notices and/or annexes to the travel documents.

The client expressly acknowledges having received and read information related to the selected trip, which was provided by Machupicchu Sacred. Likewise, the client acknowledges having clear, complete, and precise knowledge about the weather conditions of the tourist destinations included in their travel package, as well as the recommendations and advice provided by the company, which are available on the institution’s various online platforms, ensuring timely and understandable access.

Booking Policy

To proceed with the registration or reservation of a service, Machupicchu Sacred will send you a registration form, which must be completely filled out and legible.
The reservation becomes effective once the form is duly completed, signed, and returned along with a 35% deposit of the total trip amount (as agreed with your Travel Advisor).
The remaining balance of the total trip amount must be paid no later than 30 days before the start date of the trip.
If the reservation is made less than 30 days in advance, 100% of the total amount must be paid immediately.
Receipt of the deposit implies the reservation of services only to the extent of availability.
Each participant must fill out their own registration form. The contracting party and/or trip representative is responsible for the timely submission of all forms.
In the case of minors, parents and/or guardians act as representatives and assume responsibility for them. They must consult and inform the company in a timely manner of any condition and/or special requirement for the attention of their children.

Note: Machupicchu Sacred requests passengers’ passports only for the management of reservations and tourist services that require official identification. The data will be handled confidentially and securely, ensuring compliance with personal data protection regulations.

Cancellation Policy

At the client’s request

In case of cancellation due to personal reasons (illness, death, etc.), the following penalties will apply:

More than 60 days before departure	25% of the total trip amount retained
59 to 31 days before departure	40% of the total trip amount retained
30 to 15 days before departure	50% of the total trip amount retained
14 to 08 days before departure	75% of the total trip amount retained
07 days or less before departure	100% of the total trip amount retained

Each retention excludes bank charges and costs related to the purchase of domestic flights or train tickets.

For the Inca Trail trek, USD 250 per person will be retained.
Entrance to Machu Picchu is non-changeable and non-refundable.

If a group member cancels, the cost for the remaining travelers will be recalculated, and they will have the following options:

Accept and confirm their agreement with the new proposed rate.
Reject the new rate. In that case, the conditions established in the paragraph will apply.

By Machupicchu Sacred

In cases of force majeure (social conflicts, weather conditions, pandemics, etc.), Machupicchu Sacred offers clients the following options:

Postpone the trip to a new date.
Cancel the trip and provide a refund for the amounts paid (excluding bank fees) according to the cancellation policies of our service providers (airlines, trains, hotels, tourist site tickets, etc.).
Refunds will only be processed after the various service providers have reimbursed Machupicchu Sacred for the pre-paid reservation amounts.

Program Modification Policy

At the client’s request

If the client makes changes or interrupts their trip early or decides not to participate in an activity scheduled in the program, no refunds will be made for unused services, and services not initially specified will remain the client’s responsibility.
If the client makes modifications on their own without consulting or notifying the agency beforehand—such as changes to flights, hotels, or travel itinerary—the agency will not be responsible for any inconveniences, losses, or additional costs that may arise from such changes.
In case of date changes by the client, we can reschedule the trip for a later date; however, costs related to service changes will apply.

By Machupicchu Sacred

The agency may modify itineraries in cases of external events (strikes, blockades, adverse weather, etc.) without compensating its clients. Changes will be made in the best interest of each traveler to ensure the smooth development of the trip. Additional expenses caused by these events will be borne by the client.

Rate Modification Policy

Machupicchu Sacred provides its prices in U.S. dollars USD, the currency used in Peru and for international trade, in order to remain aligned with the actual cost of our service providers.

If a significant fluctuation (+5%) occurs in the exchange rate or in service costs (such as transportation or tourist entrance fees) between the contract signing and one month before the trip, a rate adjustment will be applied. In such cases, the client has the following options:

Accept the new rate.
Cancel the trip and receive a refund (excluding bank fees).

Aircraft and Luggage

The agency is not responsible for delays, flight rescheduling, ticket loss, strikes, or weather phenomena occurring before, during, or after the trip. This also includes international flights not booked through our agency and domestic flights included in the trip. Additional expenses caused by these events will be borne by the client.
Luggage and personal belongings are the responsibility of the client. In case of loss, theft, or damage, the agency will not be held responsible.

Medical Policies and Responsibilities

At Machupicchu Sacred, we want to ensure a safe and seamless experience. Your safety and well-being are our priority; therefore, we request that you:

Inform the agency about any medical conditions or allergies.
Be in optimal physical condition for the tours.
Have a medical check-up 4–6 weeks before the trip.
The agency may deny participation if the physical or mental condition is not suitable.

Travel Insurance

The traveler is solely responsible for obtaining comprehensive travel insurance that covers accidents, illnesses, losses, cancellations, or similar situations during the tour. The agency recommends obtaining it but assumes no responsibility for failure to purchase it or for its coverage.
